Pope Francis Fever at Quo Vadis Gathering

The spirit of Pope Francis in America was evident at the Quo Vadis gathering. Members of the Quo Vadis program arrived at Misericordia University with a lot of energy and enthusiasm on Sunday to watch the closing Papal Mass for the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia. Many followed his journey and watched the Masses from Washington D.C. to Philadelphia.

The gathering started with some outdoor activities where members had the opportunity to socialize and work on team building. After burning a few calories and working up a sweat, it was time for everyone’s favorite- pizza and snacks! While eating, Father Don offered his thoughts on Pope Francis’ visit to America.  He also asked all the attendees what they saw throughout the week, and what about the Pope's visit stood out to them the most. Food and discussion led right into the main event- the Papal Mass.

The Mass was enjoyed by all who gathered. A few commented on how they found it interesting the amount of different languages they tried to incorporate during the Mass. It's not everyday you hear three different languages during a song. It was definitely something new to see the Papal umbrellas as communion was being distributed. Everyone agreed the Mass was beautiful, and the music was really spectacular.

After the Mass, Father Don led a discussion about everyone’s thoughts and reactions. The gathering concluded with some more activities and prayer.

The inaugural Quo Vadis camp was held in the summer of 2015. It brought together young men of high school age who are committed to their Catholic faith and are actively involved in the life of their parishes.

The name 'Quo Vadis' (Latin for 'Where are you going?') poses the question that every person faces as their life unfolds and they make decisions about their vocation, be it as a single or married person, or someone called to serve as a priest or religious.

Reunions are held throughout the year to bring together the group as they continue on their faith journey. Those who attended the camp in the summer are encouraged to attend the reunions and bring others who might be interested in the program.
